Ferry Meadows – Walk and AGM

Sunday 6 November 2016. It was that time of year again as 9 of us met at Ferry Meadows for a short 4.8 mile walk prior to holding the Group’s AGM. We set off in bright sunshine through Ferry Meadows and then to walk between the golf course and the River Nene in the direction of Orton Lock. We then left the river behind to walk up the north side of the rowing lake where some novice rowers were being given instructions in their very narrow and seemingly unstable boats.

We made a brief coffee stop beside the River Nene, once again, before heading back to Orton Lock to cross over to the opposite bank for a walk beside the railway line back to our starting point in Ferry Meadows.

Amanda joined us fro the AGM which took its usual brief form with me doing most of the talking in my roles as Chairman/Treasurer. The most worrying issue was the continuing decline in group membership which had fallen from 80 to just 68 in the last 12 months.
