Sunday 30 October 2016. It was a slightly misty and overcast morning which rather spoiled the autumn colours. In bright sunshine they would have been spectacular. There were just 6 of us (Linda x 2, Helen, Bea, Derek and me) on this new walk from Hallaton.
We’ve done a few routes out of Hallaton which is a good start/finishing point as there is a cafe in the village and it is surrounded by modest hills and rolling countryside. We headed out towards Hallaton Spinneys where we stopped for coffee. Our route then took us via Keythorpe Hall Farm and Pine Tree Stud before stopping again for lunch by the side of two ornamental lakes.
The last leg back to Hallaton would have taken us across a few cropped/ploughed fields so we diverted onto the unmade section of Goadby Road where the going was a little easier and made for a change from the usual route back into Hallaton. The walk was just 6.7 miles with 500ft of ascent.
