Blakeney

Sunday 19 July 2015.  9 of us took part in today’s walk from Blakeney village hall. We headed to the harbour which was busy with holiday makers and quite a few independent walkers. The first leg of our route took us out on the Norfolk Coast Path, across the marshes, finishing at the windmill in Cley next the Sea. A walk along the back streets of Cley took us to the church where we stopped at around midday for a late coffee/early lunch stop.

The second leg of the walk involved mainly road walking through Wiveton village before ending with a circuit of Wiveton Downs from where there were great views in all directions. We had another brief stop here before setting off on the final leg of the walk heading towards the coast to pick up the NCP midway between Morston and Blakeney.

It turned out to be quite a warm and sunny day with a fresh sea breeze. Just about perfect for walking. I had published the walk as being 8 miles but it turned out to be 9 miles with just under 500ft of ascent.
