Friday 19 June 2015. It will be the longest day on Sunday 21st June and we seem to have seen very little summer weather. There have been odd warm days here and there. We had a wonderful week of Yorkshire sunshine in the middle of April but it seems to have gone downhill since then.
This week in the Scottish borders has been mixed and the forecast for the Lakes during next week seems no better. This morning started dry but by 10am it was raining, again, and the temperature was only 11c. I think that I made the right decision not to go walking but to have a drive into Carlisle for a look around and to kill some time. If I hadn’t been moving on to Keswick on Monday for two weeks then I might well have cut this holiday short and come home a couple of days earlier than planned.
I can only hope that it is dry tomorrow for my 6.30am dawn chorus walk and that the weather improves next week. If the weather forecast is anything to go by Sunday already looks like a bit of a washout
