Downham Market

Despite a damp start to the morning the rain had stopped by the time 10 of us started the walk. The route took us along the Ouse river and partly along the relief channel to then head out over the railway line and then along grassy paths which were long in places , country roads and local housing estates. We also studies the clock tower and its history.

We did find that the stiles in places were challenging with paper wrapped around the barbed wire along the top of the stile ( see picture) others had the lower wooden step missing and another at an angle for tall people.
