Thixendale

Monday 20 April 2015. Karen joined us today for our 8.65 mile walk from Thixendale which had a total ascent of 1,050ft. It was an undulating walk over typical Yorkshire Wolds countryside. We followed the Wolds Way for much of the route and also the Centenary Way.

Our lunch break was taken at the ruined church in what remains of the medieval village of Wharram Percy. After the chill of last week, I’m pleased to say that it felt like a warm summer’s day although the Met Office only recorded a temperature of 13c.
