Clitheroe local walk

Monday 8 September 2014. Amanda has joined me for a few days walking. We thought that we would set off with an easy 6.8 mile walk starting straight from her apartment on the outskirts of Clitheroe, taking in part of the Ribble Way. The walk turned out to be 8.4 miles with a total of 660ft of ascent reaching a dizzying high point of 400ft above sea level.

It was a gentle introduction, largely across farmland, with a stop for coffee after an hour at the Waddington Arms. We stopped again for lunch at Bashall Barn and then made our way back to Clitheroe. It was pleasantly warm with sunny spells and a good introduction for more challenging walks to come.
