Hallaton

On what was a lovely day for walking, it was disappointing that only 4 people turned up for a 10.5 mile walk with 800ft of ascent starting from Hallaton. Bea, Amanda and I were joined by Tommy from the Kettering ramblers. Although of similar age to me, he was an ex-Marine and seemed keen to walk at a good pace. As a consequence, we averaged something like 22 minute miles on what was a warm day.

I think that the distance to travel from Wisbech (50 miles), the length of the walk and the fact that it was a Bank Holiday weekend combined to deter potential walkers. Never mind, their loss was our gain.
