Derwent Edge

Thursday’s walk was one that I led many years ago for the Fenland Ramblers. It was a 7½ mile circuit with 1,350ft of ascent. Starting from Fairholmes, I walked on the east bank of the Derwent Reservoir before making a climb of 900ft to Back Tor. I then had a couple of miles walking along Derwent Edge before descending to Ladybower Reservoir and back to my starting point. It was a second dry day in a row but there was still a steady breeze blowing on the tops.
