Derwentwater

The weather has turned colder and my legs are beginning to ache with all the ups & downs so I thought that I’d opt for something a little easier – a 9 mile circuit of Derwentwater with only 1,000ft of ascent. I was reasonably familiar with the western shore through Mansty and whilst heading south it was quite warm. However, as I turned back towards Keswick and headed north, the cloud cover increased and the temperature dropped even more. The eastern shore isn’t quite so picturesque and is busier as it is more accessible from Keswick. A nice enough walk if you don’t want to head for the hills.
