Edale Round

On a wonderful spring-like day, I decided to do a 10 mile walk with 2000ft of ascent. Starting from Edale, the first 2 miles up Grindsbook Clough involved a climb of 1,200ft which took me almost 2 hours to complete. Once at the top there was then a further 2 miles of “Edge Walking” with stupendous views across Edale to Mam Tor, Lose Hill & Win Hill.

My walk then linked up with part of the route from yesterday’s walk before descending to Jaggers Clough and past Edale Youth Hostel. Coming back through Edale village, I stopped off for a much deserved and welcome pint of lager shandy which took only a minute or two to down.
