By way of a change, the post-Christmas walk moved away from Derbyshire to the more gentle countryside of the Ashridge Estate at the northern end of the Chilterns. Seven of us made the easy drive south for a 7 mile walk out to Ivinghoe Beacon and back through downland and woods. Unusually for one of our walks, we agreed to stop off in the pub in Aldbury before making the final 300ft climb back to the car park. The first 4 pictures were taken yesterday when there was grey cloud cover and a chilly wind. The remainder were taken on my recce at the end of September.
How I wish that Cat Bells had been like this when I was there last month!
