Berwickshire Coastal Path

I was joined today by Amanda, Bea & her husband Terry who will be walking with me for the remainder of the week. Sadly, Barry was too unwell to join us and we wish him and Karen all the best. Today was a linear walk which involved catching the bus from Berwick to Burnmouth and walking the 7 miles back along the cliffs. We descended to the shoreline and the small but charming fishing village of Burnmouth. Finding our way out of the village and onto the cliff top path wasn’t that easy as the exit was through the back garden of one of the cottages. Along the way we crossed the border from Scotland into England. The remainder of the walk was less eventful although a couple of heavy showers made the grass so wet that we all had soggy boots & socks by the time we reached Berwick. We finished with a walk around the town’s ramparts and tea in the recently open Youth Hostel.
