Eyam & Stoney Middleton

We had a slightly easier walk today of just under 6 miles with 1,200ft of ascent. Starting from Eyam we walked down to cross the A623 before commencing the major ascent of 500ft or so through Darlton Quarry to a high point of just over 1,000ft above sea level. We then made a steep descent down Rough Side and in to Coombe Dale. The mid-walk break was taken in Stoney Middleton before a final ascent of The Cliff and back to Eyam. After-walk refreshments were taken in the Buttery at Eyam Hall which provided an excellent menu of light meals etc. and is highly recommended.
