The picture is a little misleading as today’s walk was largely through Forestry Commission land with the goal of reaching Llanddwyn Island and the adjacent Malltraeth Bay, both of which are shown in this picture. The 8 mile walk, being close to the shore of Anglesey, was fairly low level although there were some large sand dunes to cross. Other than a half mile stretch of beach in the middle of the walk, the remainder was on forest trails and when you have seen one tree, thousands more are all the same. Not a walk to recommend, but at least it gave me an opportunity to stretch my legs in anticipation of the mountains that lay ahead.
